Welcome home! Just as Christ welcomes all people to his table every Sunday in our Early Worship Service, everyone is invited and welcomed to find a home at First United Methodist Church. We are ordinary people on a journey with an extraordinary God. My best understanding of following God is journey. We are moving toward the fullness of living for God as we journey and travel through life together.
In the Bible, we hear this destination as the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven. We are not there yet, but we know we are on the way following Jesus by experiencing and sharing grace. We belong to God and to one another. We listen for The Good Shepherd’s voice through the Holy Spirit to guide us through the paths we will take. We pray together listening for God’s direction through the deep longings and mysteries of living and dying. We study together and learn from one another’s faith and life. No matter who we have been or where we have spent life, we strive to love God and our neighbors. It is our hope to see you this week and to hear your part of the story. Grace and Peace, Bro. Tommy.
Nursery is available on Sunday mornings and Wednesday night.
Early service is more contemporary with a praise band and second service is more traditional with a choir.
Church can happen anywhere. It happens when we create learning opportunities that transform lives. It happens when we create safe environments where children can play and learn. It happens when education makes the path to citizenship a little easier. And when our sacrifices help nourish students’ minds and bodies. That’s putting beliefs into action.
